The thought of getting referrals is so exciting and scary!

We have a "biometrics" appointment with USCIS in Milwaukee on Thursday. I'm not exactly sure why it's called biometrics, but we'll be photographed and fingerprinted. More background checks. Once we get through the biometrics appointment it should be just a couple more weeks till we're finalized on the US immigration side. Then we'll have all three major approvals required to adopt, Wisconsin, US, and India.

WACAP will start searching the database of available children once US immigration approves our application. We have a call scheduled with our caseworker next week to talk more about our next steps and discuss our child preferences as she starts looking for matches. Things are getting real.

It's amazing how fast time has gone over the last few months moving through the process. Yet time passes so slowly in between filing paperwork and waiting for the next approval. We're moving along though, Progress!!
